The challenge of good design is to optimize available space while creating an unforgettable, delightful and intimate experience for the user. For this compact, mere 250 sq. ft office space for a young student, the most elegant design scheme was envisioned and flawlessly executed. A lover of all things classic and colonial, the client came with a simple brief – an unparalleled workspace and warm haven for friends and family, drenched in a classic theme. The office has three zones – the work desk, an informal discussion area and a waiting area. For a bibliophile and erudite scholar, this space is designed as a cozy nook to read, think and discuss ideas. 

The compact office was furnished with custom-made details in teak wood and walnut-stained veneer on the wall and ceiling panelling. Exquisite, custom-crafted wooden shelves give the ambience of an erstwhile colonial library. Vaulted and hand-carved details on the furniture, such as the stately wooden work desk and discussion table add gravitas and panache. To complement the mood, warm-white lighting, sconces and a chandelier aptly add a touch of warmth. Replete with handcrafted Victorian mouldings and edge finishes, each interior element fulfils the design vision holistically. The office is an exemplar of maximalist design in limited space, while not compromising with quality of materials and finishes at all!
