An urban 4BHK apartment for a joint family delicately brings together Indian elements within a contemporary setting. The design intent required easy, visually transparent and lively spaces for a family to enjoy the comforts of their city home. Versatile materials such as polished veneers are used in a variety of forms to bring about richness and low-maintenance. The entrance foyer is suffused in the warmth of veneered panelling with a moveable louver peep window and brass inlay engraved as a divine shloka. The family living area is a melange of soothing colors of upholstery and simple teakwood furniture matched with a handpicked woven rug. A custom-designed grid partition between the living and dining area is a playful and unique element. Complementing the clients’ personalities, spaces and thoughtful corners around the house are peppered with handcrafted elements and antique selections. With careful consideration of the users’ liking and age, each bedroom is a blend of custom-designed elements arranged within a calm, soft setting!
